Economist.com | Beer mergers: Molson has over 40% of Canada’s beer market. But it is under fierce attack from Labatt, a brewer now owned by Belgium’s Interbrew. And it has struggled abroad. Its second-biggest market is Brazil, where two years ago it bought an 80% stake in Cervejarias Kaiser�which has been losing market share and draining Molson’s profits.
