The argument for Democracy

“Every kind of ‘justice’ other than absolute equality will, in practice, reward some quality other than virtue, and is therefore to be condemned.” – Page 202, History of Western Philosophy, Bertrand Russel

Attempting to reward virtue will in practice lead to people manipulating the system.  It’s not a sexy argument for democracy and equality, but it’s a good one.
