Canada’s involvement in Afghanistan is consonant with our longstanding tradition of committing ourselves to international peace and security.  But, we should do two things differently:

  1. Not turn over captives to be tortured by the US, because this is inhumane
  2. Establish clear end-goals based on which we can objectively define success or failure, because the current ‘perpetual war’ that is the ‘war on terror’ will not end, nor be judged good or bad; such as state is a bad thing for reasons that I consider to be obvious.
